Pregnancy fashion fun for everyone!!! Every Friday while I was pregnant I wore something new on air and got the viewers super fashionista feedback! Click on images of outfits below to see where I got the outfit from and what people said about them.

Do you have a tip for maternity fashion? I’d love to hear from you. What designers or stores do you like? E-mail me!

UPDATE: Thanks for all of your emails! I’m so excited to hear that a ton of you are pregnant right now. Congratulations!! That’s so exciting. So here are some tips I gathered over the last few months of carrying my little princess:

Getting a good base without breaking the piggy bank:
Target – A good place to start, get some plain things here but they sell out quickly so you have to keep checking as often as you can to get the best stuff (nice colors and good sizes and great prices).
Motherhood Maternity – Spend 30 minutes trying things on once you’re ready to trade your cute small waisted clothes in for maternity clothes. Wear a tummy pad so you can see what they’ll look like later in pregnancy (and take a great girlfriend who will tell you how hot you look with that extra 30 pounds in your belly). It really opened my eyes on what styles I liked and what I really didn’t like. Then just get the basics. I think I went there and spent $100 and got about 6 outfits. Oh and a great place for jeans and black pants or skirts that you can mix and match with everything.

Now for your fun stuff so you feel sexy and cute not like a tent:
Belly Dance Maternity: www.bellydancematernity.com
Pickles and Ice Cream: www.picklesandicecream.com (cutest dresses here)
Nuka Maternity: www.nukamaternity.com (this stuff does not feel maternity at all, love it)
Due Maternity: www.duematernity.com (this is where I got my baby shower dress)

One more tip: I go with the dresses when I buy online as the sizing can be so different, then I pair them with black leggings and boots. Or I look at the tops and then wear the pants/skirt I bought at Motherhood maternity with it. If I’m buying pants or skirts I’ll do this in person (at either Target, or Motherhood maternity).

I hope this helps!

YAY team pregnant hotties!

My Pregnancy Fashion Team:

Julia Beck – Maternity Stylist (to the stars)

I’m not sure if this is a real job or one I’ve allocated to my brilliantly talented friend Julia Beck (photo above), owner of FortyWeeks a consulting firm with a stella list of clients (the list pretty much reads like a who’s who and what I want for mother and baby). Why is a pregnancy stylist important you may wonder? Well what I’ve found is my style taste from normal “Jenni body” do not mesh with my new growing in all different places body. I’m used to emphasizing my small waist (no longer there) or trying to make my top assets look bigger (they are now doing that on their own and need no emphasis). All of these changes mean I have to learn a whole new way to shop if I want to score an outfit that flatters (and believe me I’ve found those that don’t).

Shopping has always sounded so fun, but when the little bundle of joy decides she needs to take all your energy before you get to have a piece, it becomes not as  much fun as before. That’s where Julia has been an amazing friend to lean on. My job involves dressing up every single day, and I love playing dress up Barbie  but I love it even more when someone with her talents and knowledge plays dress up Barbie with me as her Barbie. Not to mention she has an amazing circle of  friends that are so talented, if she doesn’t know the perfect thing to tell me, she has instant access to the right look just by reaching out and asking one of them.

I am so excited to share what she has been kind enough to teach me with all of you. Let me know if you ever have any questions and I will make sure to ask her.  In the meantime I love getting your feedback on my outfits I wear on air. I couldn’t ask for a better fashionista family of friends watching me each morning and  helping me navigate through my dress up Barbie body changes.

xoxo
